POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Cultural Support Coordinator, the Cultural Support Worker is responsible for delivering cultural support services for Class Members and potential Class Members both on-reserve and off-reserve. This role focuses on providing direct cultural support, assisting with community outreach, and facilitating traditional healing and wellness programs. The Cultural Support Worker plays a vital role in ensuring that cultural services are accessible and aligned with Indigenous traditions and healing practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree or diploma in social work or a related field is an asset.
- Experience working within Indigenous communities, with knowledge of Mushkegowuk cultural practices and traditions.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and cultural safety principles.
- Ability to provide emotional support while upholding cultural protocols and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with community members and service providers.
- Organizational and time-management skills to coordinate events, workshops, and healing activities.
- Ability to collaborate with mental health providers and other support professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an asset.
- The ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.
- Current Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening are required.
- A valid driver's G or G2 license and willingness to travel as needed.
