Role Overview: Cultivates, builds, and manages relationships with a portfolio of small business clients to increase BMO's market share. Applies professional consultative sales and business development practices. Identifies opportunities and refers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new clients and expand relationships.
- Build networks and referral sources for ongoing growth.
- Generate appointments and opportunities through targeted sales efforts.
- Maintain a business plan with relationship management strategies to achieve retention objectives.
- Identify prospects and cross-sell products/services.
- Develop client rapport and trust.
- Understand local market and develop relationships with centres of influence.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and provide expertise and support.
- Develop long-term profitable relationships and expand wallet share.
- Provide accurate information about banking products/services.
- Understand customer needs and offer solutions.
- Resolve or escalate issues.
- Develop solutions based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Provide advice on implementation of solutions.
- Monitor performance and address issues.
- Manage databases in line with data governance standards.
- Lead or participate in change management activities.
- Support operational program development and implementation.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service delivery.
- Support business/group program development and promotion.
- Follow security procedures and apply due diligence to prevent losses.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.
- Identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Focus primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader scope.
- Exercise judgment in problem-solving within rules.
- Work independently on complex tasks, including unique situations.
Qualifications:
- Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience with a related post-secondary degree or equivalent.
- Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret financial statements.
- Knowledge of business banking products, lending, and policies.
- Experience in customer sales and service.
- Technical proficiency through education or experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and team skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Influence skills and data-driven decision-making.
Fluent in French and English required for client and team support inside and outside Quebec.
Compensation:
Salary range: $54,500 - $101,500; pay type: Salaried, with potential bonuses and benefits. Details at Total Rewards.
