What You Will Do
In this essential frontline role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors---setting the tone for their health care experience and ensuring smooth administrative and communication processes.
Your Day to Day
As a Registration-Switchboard Clerk, you will:

Register patients for emergency and diagnostic services using a computerized system.

Process admissions, discharges, and transfers with accuracy.

Operate a computerized switchboard and page system; direct calls and locate personnel as needed.

Respond quickly to emergency codes and situations, following established protocols.

Greet and assist patients and visitors at reception; perform clerical duties related to patient records and departmental communications.

Education \& Experience:
- Grade 12 and two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities:
- Ability to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
