Job Summary
Distech Controls, a subsidiary of Acuity Brands, is seeking an Electronics Technician for its Brossard, Quebec office. The technician will repair electronic boards, support production testing equipment, and diagnose returned merchandise under supervision of the Technician Manager and in collaboration with the production engineering team.
Key Tasks \& Responsibilities
- Repair and update electronic boards, analyze rejection reasons, and perform repairs using measuring devices.
- Read and analyze electronic schematics to identify defects.
- Update repair operations in the database (Proligent).
- Serve as Level 1 specialist for debugging test benches, perform preventive maintenance, prepare components, and debug new test benches.
- Install and configure production printers, set up databases, and use Factory Logix for board analysis.
- Maintain inventory, identify trends, participate in inventory counts.
- Diagnose issues reported by customers, process RMAs, write analysis reports, and investigate new product launches for non-conformities.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- College diploma (DEC) in electronics
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Windows environment
- Structured, organized, quick worker, with leadership, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure
- Strong analytical skills, manual dexterity, team player, proactive, disciplined
- Bilingual in French and English for serving clients and providers across Canada and the USA
- Availability from Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 8 PM
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of access control, lighting, instrumentation, and control systems
