PURPOSE OF POSITION:
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team and oversee the execution of new product introduction (NPI) processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving projects from project initiation through manufacturing in a fast-paced, mass-production environment. This role supports a high-priority strategic program within IEM and will have visibility at the program level, contributing to updates that inform executive decision-making. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time product launches fulfilling all project requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the execution of the stage gate process for new product introduction, from project initiation to full-scale manufacturing.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of each project.
- Facilitate communication between teams, identifying and mitigating risks to project success.
- Coordinate local manufacturing team efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate NPI goals and objectives.
- Track project progress, provide regular updates, and escalate issues to senior management as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NPI process to enhance efficiency and process quality.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product design, and supply chain operations.
- Experience providing project status updates and roll-up reporting to program-level leadership.
- Comfortable presenting project outcomes and risks in a format that supports executive-level decision-making.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a mass manufacturing or product development environment.
- Proven track record of managing projects through a stage gate process or similar framework.
- PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
