What we are looking for:
As a pharmacist at our Oak Valley Health Outpatient Pharmacy, you will practice to your full scope in providing professional pharmacy services and work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy.
In this role, you will oversee the operations of the Pharmacy, including providing consultation to both customers and health care providers, medication dispensing, practicing pharmaceutical care in an outpatient setting, assisting in maintenance of the dispensary, day to day procurement, ODB and third party billings and cash procedures. You will also participate in activities that support patients during transitions of care.
What you bring to the role:
- Graduate from an accredited University Pharmacy Program
- Part A registration status in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Previous 1-3 years experience in a retail setting with Kroll systems is required;
- Valid authorization to provide injections by the Ontario College of Pharmacists required.
- Demonstrated experience with medication reconciliation, identifying and resolving drug related problems to optimize medication therapy and safety and providing education to patients and health professionals
- Demonstrated pharmaceutical skills and techniques in sterile procedures, deductive reasoning, attention to detail and safety
- Demonstrated computer efficiency is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the members of the interdisciplinary team
- Evidence of professional development, continuing education and leadership experience is preferred
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
