EPCOR's Commercial Services group is hiring a Water Distribution \& Wastewater Collection Operator [Full-Time Permanent] to join the Commercial Operations team at the Chestermere location. As a Water Distribution \& Wastewater Collection Operator, you will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for daily operations of the water and wastewater systems, laboratory testing, and compliance with reporting and quality standards. You will also perform duties in accordance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System at the Chestermere site.
What you'd be responsible for
- Maintaining, inspecting, and repairing water distribution and wastewater collection facilities and infrastructure.
- Servicing infrastructure, including water quality sampling, process monitoring, residuals management, equipment shutdowns, cleaning, and QC/QA testing.
- Collecting samples and conducting laboratory analyses in line with QA/QC standards.
- Developing and maintaining SOPs, completing work permits, and keeping records such as logs, inventories, and maintenance documentation.
- Analyzing data for regulatory and operational reporting.
- Upholding EPCOR's HS\&E policies and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Using SCADA, LIMS, and other software to monitor and troubleshoot operations.
- Responding to operational issues, customer inquiries, and emergencies professionally.
- Handling meter installations, investigations, and readings as needed.
- Managing external contractors and participating in compliance audits.
What's required to be successful
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; Water \& Wastewater Technician Certificate/Diploma is an asset.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience; experience at a Level II or higher facility preferred.
- Minimum Level I certification in Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection; aspirations to upgrade within 12 months if below this level.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian HS\&E regulations and ISO standards.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License with a clean record; ability to qualify for an EPCOR driver's permit; a 5-year Commercial Driver's Abstract may be required.
- Pre-placement medical and drug/alcohol testing clearance.
- Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in all weather conditions; occasional use of respirators.
- Located within 30 minutes of Chestermere Water Transfer Station within 6 months of hire for on-call duties.
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to quality service and results.
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead others; proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tools is a plus.

- Out of Scope Hourly (OSH)
- Wage: Determined based on certification levels on a wage grid.
- Hours: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week; overtime and shift work may be required; on-call rotation participation necessary.
