Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Deseronto Area
We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to start work as soon as possible in the Deseronto area.
Shifts: Early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RN.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure a timely and accessible admission process for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and its services.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and conducted safely.
- Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensuring protocols are followed on all shifts.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science -- Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Effective, compassionate, and supportive interpersonal skills.
- Respect for residents' dignity, privacy, and involvement in care decisions.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the Long Term Care Act, Health Disciplines Act, and others pertinent to nursing practice in Ontario.
- Medical clearance, including TB tests.
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Clear Criminal Record check.
- Proof of vaccination, adherence to COVID-19 protocols, and mask-wearing at all times.
