Job Requirements:
Successful candidates will work well in a team setting, but will be extremely self-motivated and driven. Applicants must have 2 years of experience in an accounting role. Preference will be given to applicants with prior dealership experience.
Candidates must have strong interpersonal and phone skills, as well as a proficiency learning new software. Organizational skills, and attention to detail are a must for this position.
Position Overview:We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk to join our team on a 1-year maternity leave contract. This full-time role requires a 44-hour work week and is ideal for someone with strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and process payments, invoices, and deposits
Assist with month-end closing and reporting
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues
Support the accounting team with various administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (automotive industry experience is an asset)
Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with dealership management systems (e.g., Reynolds \& Reynolds or CDK) is an advantage
High attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
