BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
BIOVECTRA Inc. has openings for Production Technicians . These are permanent, full-time positions located in Charlottetown, PEI.
Responsibilities:
- Operate manual and automated equipment for Microbial Fermentations, Downstream Purifications, and Fill/Finish activities related to Drug Substance or Drug Product manufacturing.
- Manage process operations from start-up to shutdown, including microbial growth, expression, recovery, filtration, chemical synthesis, purification, final fill, and vial inspections.
- Participate in BIOVECTRA's quality management system, focusing on batch production records, work instructions, and adherence to policies and SOPs.
- Handle hazardous materials such as acids, bases, solvents, potent compounds, and APIs safely and properly.
- Perform sampling and testing procedures including pH, conductivity, spectrophotometry, osmometry, densometry, aseptic sampling, and filter integrity testing.
- Collaborate with other departments on process and equipment training for manufacturing success.
- Prepare shift summaries and update spreadsheets with performance and quality indicators.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing and revising SOPs and process documentation.
- Assist with housekeeping, equipment cleaning, warehousing, material staging, and tanker operations as needed.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies and responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in pharma manufacturing is an asset.
- Aseptic manufacturing experience is an asset.
- GMP experience is an asset.
