Position Overview Experience

Previous experience working with infants/children in a health care setting preferred.

Previous experience working as a Rehabilitation Assistant or Health Care Aid preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be assessed.

Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.

Rehabilitation Assistant, Nursing Assistant (e.g., Health Care Aid) education preferred.

Basic computer skills and Medical Terminology required.

Successful completion of the in-house training provided by supervising Audiologist within one month of hire.

Successful completion of refresher training as per established protocol.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong English oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
- Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute; computer skills including Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel), etc.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to travel to provide infant screening at hospitals and community locations in Winnipeg.
- Required to work evening and weekends.
- May be required to work extended hours.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
- May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
