This is a full time position open to candidates local to the Bonnyville region, or willing to relocate. Can provide a temporary room in company housing until you find a place to live)Willing to consider 3rd or 4th Year Heavy Dity ApprenticeWhat we offerJourneyman rates: $42 - $54 per hour (based on experience)Excellent benefits, health spending account and matching pension contributions starting on your first day! Full time, year round work in clean, organized and well equipped shop that is located in town.Variety of equipment to work on: from skid steers to T&E Pumps on pressure and vacuum equipment (Cummins, Paccar, and loaders too!)Safety is number 1: we watch out for one another and pride ourselves in doing the work right the first timeKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure TrucksOngoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumpsTroubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective partsInterpret work ordersOccasionally attend service calls in the fieldWork alongside apprentices and assist in their development Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduledOther duties as assignedRole SpecificationsHeavy Equipment Technician Journeyman requiredor registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Heavy Duty MechanicValid Class 5 license with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is requiredClass 1 or 3 license considered an assetExperience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an assetExperience troubleshooting emission system issues using diagnostic software (typically Cummins) is an assetAble to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol testAble to provide your own toolsSkillsYou’re happiest working in a team and getting the job done safely, as well as working independently on various projects in the shopYour knowledge of T&E pumps and Cummins, CAT, and Paccar engines would set you up for successYou’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobsTech savvy enough to work the diagnosticsGood communication skills, enjoy doing precision work, and solving problemsEAST1Additional InformationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
