We are currently looking for a Reliability Advisor to join our Energy Delivery team in a permanent position to provide continual engagement with provincial and municipal government officials, enhance NS Power’s presence in the communities that we serve, participate in community and customer events, and share ongoing details on NS Power’s reliability strategy.
The Reliability Advisor will engage with customers and stakeholders throughout the communities within their region of accountability and serve as a liaison to ensure a common understanding between NS Power and our customers of the reliability issues being experienced and the measures we are taking to improve reliability. The Reliability Advisor will work with stakeholders to understand the challenges from their perspective and provide insights regarding NS Power’s reliability strategy.
Reporting to the Manager, Reliability Engagement, you will be responsible for working closely with the Energy Delivery, Enterprise Asset Management and Communications teams as our teams work together to enhance the reliability experience and relationships with our stakeholders. You will also work closely with Energy Delivery operational personnel and members of the Energy Delivery Reliability team in the execution of our reliability strategy.
Key elements of this role include:
Provide oversight and coordination of customer reliability issues, including liaison with customer stakeholders and NS Power management and teams within the business that contribute to reliability performance for customers.
Support NS Power’s engagement with customers and stakeholders by preparing briefing notes, presentation material and reliability action plans.
Review reliability reports and identify areas of concern to support proactive communications with stakeholders regarding reliability performance and NS Power’s plans to improve reliability.
Attend meetings with customer stakeholders to discuss matters related to reliability and deliver presentations covering a range of topics related to our reliability strategy.
Work closely with the Regulatory and Communications teams to deliver key messages on reliability initiatives and projects to customers, government stakeholders, and key advocates.
Work closely with our operational teams in the field and our communications teams to develop communications materials including written and video content. Being comfortable participating in or creating short video field reports of ongoing reliability work would support these activities.
You will be responsible for safety by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
These skills will make you successful:
You have at least five years of related experience, preferably working with Electric Utilities. You also have an understanding of the issues that impact reliability of service and the measures that are taken to address the issues and improve reliability of service.
You are highly organized and demonstrate excellent communication skills that allow you to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and partners.
You are a team player, possess a high level of initiative, and have an ability to deliver presentations effectively to a variety of audiences.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with the ability to handle multiple deliverables. You are also comfortable working independently.
You have a general understanding of how electricity is delivered to our customers.
You have experience in or an interest in gaining experience in transmission and distribution power systems and the implementation of innovative reliability technologies and solutions that are aimed at improving reliability.
You have a working knowledge of word processing and developing presentations.
You have a valid driver’s license.
