About the Opportunity
This role will lead innovative design solutions that enhance user experience. You will work across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, optimized, and accessible designs tailored to user needs.
User-Centered Design
- Act as an advisor on UX/UI best practices, helping ensure consistency and quality across projects.
- Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to gather insights and inform design decisions.
Prototyping and Development Support
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that effectively communicate design concepts and support business objectives.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of designs into production, addressing any technical constraints.
- Provide feedback on UI implementation, identifying areas for refinement.
Optimization and Accessibility
- Optimize interfaces for responsiveness, performance, and accessibility, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Continuously refine designs based on user feedback, analytics, and evolving project requirements.

Cross-Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align UX/UI with broader project goals.
- Present design rationale to teams, ensuring user experience considerations are well understood.
- Present and justify design concepts to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to iterate and improve solutions.
Mentorship & Team Support
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level designers, fostering skill development.
- Offer constructive design critiques and help refine workflows.
- Support the Manager in scaling best practices across the team.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or another related program required
- 5+ years’ professional experience in UI/UX design on both web and mobile platforms required
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) an asset
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics or PageSense for user data analysis an asset
- Understanding the role of microcopy in improving user interactions and clarity an asset
- Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture
- Experience with responsive design and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
- Ability to translate analytics and user feedback into actionable design improvements
- Advanced knowledge of creating designs optimized for multiple devices and screen sizes
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear, confident, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
- Effective time management and decision-making ability to set priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external); demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Highly resourceful and adaptable with the ability to problem-solve
- Adaptability to changing technologies and project requirements
- Leadership qualities with a focus on mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Hours
- Permanent, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$40.95 - $51.19 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
