One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Risk Investigator - KYC in Canada or United States.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who excels in high-risk environments and is passionate about improving risk and compliance processes. As a Senior Risk Investigator - KYC, you will oversee Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) activities and enhance customer due diligence operations. You'll work cross-functionally with teams in Compliance, Product, and Legal to improve automation, reduce friction, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your work will directly support the onboarding and review of both new and existing customers, including future product launches.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) and know-your-customer (KYC) reviews for new and existing clients
- Oversee BPO operations to ensure alignment with internal standards and regulatory expectations
- Develop and refine desktop procedures, metrics dashboards, and QA/QC processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve controls, workflows, and automation using verification tools
- Support customer refresh processes and respond to RFI requests from banking partners
- Review and adjudicate sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts to reduce risk exposure
- Identify false positives and recommend rule changes to improve operational efficiency
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in KYC, AML, Risk Investigations, or Sanctions
- At least 2 years building or improving risk and compliance programs
- Strong understanding of financial services or other regulated industries
- Hands-on experience with KYC verification software (e.g., Alloy, MidDesk, Socure)
- Ability to manage high caseload queues and handle customer escalations
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Interest in fintech, startups, and the U.S. banking ecosystem

- U.S. (other regions): $85,500 – $106,900 USD
