To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing As a member of CIBC’s Big Data Platform Services (BDPS) Team, you will act as a liaison between business/other CIBC technology teams and the Big Data Delivery team(Enterprise Data Hub(EDH) & Enterprise data Gateway(EDGE)) , ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional and non-functional requirements. The role will lead requirement gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders, provides expertise to project managers, update status to leadership team, and coordination with peer tech groups to ensure seamless delivery. The role demands critical thinking and problem solving capability as well as data modeling and data profiling skills. This role will require to gain deep understanding on the CIBC data and ability to understand and orchestrate complex data mapping. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with big data technologies both on premise (Hadoop) and cloud (Azure). You will be working on CIBC key initiative related to EDH data to EDGE migration and building a data lake for business users. How you'll succeed Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Solution Design - Conduct research, current state analysis, capabilities required to support future state, and work with technology partners (e.g. Solution Designers, Architects, Developers) to build solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance. Management skills - Strong problem solving skills, stakeholder management abilities, exceptional organizational skills and strong communication skills. Ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. Technical skills - Strong abilities around analyzing and understanding data using SQL, Excel, HUE(Hadoop), Data bricks SQL. Who you are You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience as a business consultant , leading multiple projects and designing solutions. It’s an asset if you have at least 2+ years of Confluence, Jira, GitHub experience; Data Modeling (Build relational, dimensional and NOSQL data models) and strong data profiling skills; strong abilities to build relational, dimensional and NOSQL data models; worked in both waterfall methodology and Agile framework (Scrum and Kanban); familiarity with Azure cloud with services such as Azure Data Factory, SQL MI, Azure Data Lake Storage, Data bricks; and familiarity with Hadoop services such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, Hue.
