Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Supervisor Location: Mississauga, Ontario
We are innovative, customer-centric, professional, and our goal is to provide exceptional service for our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for our technical staff who are responsible for service and installation of Doors and Docks in todays every-changing market.
Areas of work are supervisor technicians who are installing, troubleshooting and repairing commercial/industrial doors, door opening systems, gate opening systems and dock leveling systems. Performing the previous listed work. This position has working conditions that expose you to various weather conditions and require you to work in a dirty, dusty, oily environment.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure technician’s tasks are being completed efficiently and safely, including documentation compliance.
· Monitoring performance of Technicians.
· Aid dispatch in the scheduling of technicians.
· Ensuring technicians have the tools & equipment required to perform their duties.
· Training & mentoring new technicians.
· Ensuring compliance of company policies by yourself and the technicians you are supervising including but not limited to Health & Safety.
· Assist management with process improvement initiatives.
· Troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues on technicians sites.
· Service and install various products, including but not limited to loading dock equipment, vehicle restraints, sectional doors, and rolling doors.
Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
Maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
Responsible for accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
Identifying opportunities for upselling and cross selling additional services and products.
Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
Performing routine preventative maintenance.
Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.
Qualifications:
At least 10- 15 years experience in including loading dock equipment, sectional doors, and rolling doors.
Electrical experience is a plus.
On call rotation and overtime requirements
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record – G Class License
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to handle a physical workload.
Proficient with power tools.
Independent work capability.
Service-oriented individual with effective written/verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working at heights.
Adaptability to a changing work environment.
Effective interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass background check & preemployment medical examination
Basic math skills.
Working Conditions:
