Join our team today!Job DescriptionThe Assistant Clinical Services Manager role will support the day-to-day operations and provide leadership in the operating room and Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to an inter-professional team to employ best practices and effective communication in delivering safe, competent and ethically patient centered care using an evidence-informed and stakeholders engagement approach. Respectful interactions and collaboration with patients and families are core expectations of this role. This position will report to the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) to ensure the program goals and objectives are met in alignment with the corporate strategic plan.Accountabilities:Quality and safe patient careSupport the implementation of best/leading practices, quality documentation and accountability modelsFacilitate an inter-professional collaborative approach to care, recognizing and maximizing the unique contribution of each team memberMonitor and respond in a timely manner to quality, safety, risk and other performance/outcome indicatorsPromote and facilitate a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with best practices for the provision of carePromote patient and family inspired careRespond to and address issues and or concerns identified by patients and oversight in the development of the plan of care provided by the inter professional team with accountability for evaluation and point of care outcomesWork collaboratively with the CSM and inter and chairs team meetings under the direction of the CSM and attends other internal/external meetings, as appropriatePeople development and team buildingCoach, mentor, support and facilitate the needsIdentifies issues and challenges, monitor trends requiring targeted interventions and change in practice patterns or processesProvide cost containment through responsible staff utilization, for example, through the movement and assignment of staff required surgical suites based on acuity, volumes, as neededAssists the CSM to monitor the service budget and explain variances to ensure cost effective resourcesProvides value-added point of care resources to ensure and optimize safe and effective patient-centered careResponsible for supporting the CSM with the completion of Kronos (time keeping, shift changes, payroll completion and approval, as well as scheduling)Other duties may be required as assignedQualificationsBachelors degree in nursing requiredCurrent registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of OntarioMinimum five years nursing experience in the operating room with the last 10 years requiredLeadership experience as clinical manager and/or charge nurse role in perioperative services Successful completion of Basic Life Support certification and CNO certification is requiredDemonstrated effective communication, team building, problem solving and conflict resolutionDemonstrated effective and innovative change leadership and judgment skillsDemonstrated ability to utilize quality, safety and risk-based frameworks to facilitate and build the use of critical thinking, priority setting and problem-solving skills across the teamKnowledge of the collective agreements and working experience in a unionized environment is preferredExcellent written,
