About the Role:
As a Telecom Planning Construction Lead (Lead - Telecom Construction), you’ll play a key role in planning and supporting the successful execution of telecom infrastructure projects across Alberta. From building schedules and resourcing strategies to coordinating with internal teams and external contractors, this role is all about bringing precision and clarity to fast-paced construction environments.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the execution and quality control of telecom-related construction projects on transmission and distribution assets.
Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and in compliance with engineering specifications, contracts, and standards.
Collaborate with engineering, land, and Indigenous relations teams during project planning and execution.
Participate in the development of project tenders and contracts and oversee contractor performance and documentation.
Review contractor invoices, scope changes, and project status updates.
Liaise on design changes, construction challenges, and closeout requirements.
What You Bring:
Post-secondary diploma in Telecommunications Engineering or Wireless Systems Engineering from a recognized institute of technology.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a technologist, with experience as a project coordinator, project manager, or construction planner.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Familiarity with safety and environmental legislation, AEUC, OHS, Environmental, and all applicable Canadian and Alberta electrical and building codes.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and budgeting.
Experience with tools such as Maximo, APS, GNET, For Site, and Mobile TC considered an asset
Ability to travel and work away from home base as required.
This position is administered under the ATCO Electric and Canadian Energy Workers Association Collective Agreement, Job Posting Provisions.
