JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Manufacturing & Warehouse Manager Location: tekmar (Vernon, BC) PURPOSE: The Manufacturing manager directs and oversees all activities associated with Electronics Manufacturing and the Warehouse, so all safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost metrics are achieved, and customer’s delivery and quality expectations are meet. Working with the Operations team, develops plans to execute forecasting, purchasing, scheduling, quality, inventory management, and training plans for Manufacturing. In addition, this position will oversee the smooth shipment of orders to customers and the processing and storage of inbound materials. The role is key to developing stronger relationships with associates, customers, suppliers and the union with professional and effective communication. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Maintain a safe work environment for all manufacturing associates, upholding all safety regulations Management of all Manufacturing Direct Labour associates, Production Scheduler, and the Warehouse Team . This includes the employee life cycle, training plans, team improvements and capacity planning. Ensure Manufacturing operational strategies and process improvements are optimized to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost metric targets are achieved Review daily / weekly production plans with the team and work to eliminate problems, issues and bottlenecks to ensure product is produced efficiently and by the required due dates Develop and work to improve all Manufacturing KPIs and metrics; prepare and present Operational reports, as required Participant in meetings with the union Coordinate Demand forecast process to ensure timely output of Capacity Resource plan, Variance reports and Material Requirements Plan Develop, execute and oversee annual budgets for the Manufacturing value stream Work with freight carriers to negotiate rates and address logistics issues *Other duties as required Employee core competencies: We are committed to attracting and managing the best talent globally. Negotiating EDUCATION Electronic Engineering Degree or Diploma and/or the equivalent combination of education and manufacturing management experience. MANAGEMENT: Manages all Manufacturing Direct Labour, Warehouse team, and the Production Scheduler and provides input to Operations Mgr. for priorities for Indirect Operations staff EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: At least 10 years relevant experience in leading manufacturing assembly teams Strong mechanical/engineering aptitude Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively lead teams; maintain collegial working relationships with colleagues, managers, customers and team members Experience with a Unionized work environment Solid understanding of the Employment Standards in the province of British Columbia Demonstrated successful project management experience and acumen; Strong Project Management skills and results oriented achieving deliverables on time and meeting goals Self-starting and comfortable collaborating with diverse work teams Excellent communication skills including written, technical and non-technical; oral and facilitating effective meetings including power point slide presentations and briefings (managing up and cross banding) Attention to detail; strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task under pressure and in deadline environments Strong computer skills with a variety of operational software systems (I.e.
