Manages and maintains enterprise databases, adhering to data governance and management policies. Designs databases that follow standards for data integrity, structuring and application specifications. Monitors the organization's metadata and repository usage. Creates and implements an appropriate database backup and recovery strategy. Proactively monitors and optimizes performance and tuning. Applies expertise to transform from on-premise databases to cloud data services and leverages cloud database technologies available (e.g. AI and intelligent threat detection).?
Responsibilities:
Operates, supports, and evolves existing legacy data sources. Collaborates with delivery teams to ensure that data sources are developed and evolved in a quality manner.?
Installs, configures, monitors, maintains, and improves the performance of databases and data stores
Determines, creates, maintains, enforces and documents database policies, procedures and standards.
Ensures company databases are functional and backed up. Sets procedures for data recovery and builds necessary security protocols for the system?.
Ensures overall data integrity, periodic maintenance and protects the database against threats or unauthorized access?.
Administers database objects to achieve optimum utilization?.
Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

The salary range provided reflects BMO Financial group’s compensation range for the grade band associated with this position.
Salary placement within the range outlined above is role-based and will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set consistent, and competitive ranges. We regularly evaluate compensation, identify any changes in the market and adjust our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
