What you’ll do:
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software
Manage employee expense, accounts payable and receivable processes
Oversee semi-monthly payroll processes, including periodic WCB and WSBC filings
Perform bank reconciliations
Monitor credit card transactions
Cash flow management and forecasting
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately
Manage capital asset reporting and depreciation schedules
Prepare financial statements and reports
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
Assist with year-end tax filing preparation as required
Qualifications
What you bring:
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Proficiency in cloud based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks)
Ability to manage daily financial transactions
Experience with account reconciliations
Experience with intercompany transactions
Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills and ability to partner with various stakeholders
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a senior accountant or bookkeeping role for a small- to medium-sized organization
Experience in forestry or manufacturing industries is considered an asset
CPA designation is considered an asset
Xero experience is considered an asset
