We are currently hiring 2 Temporary Full-time Personal Attendants to join our AbleLiving transitional care bed program in Hagersville at Anson Place. Our transitional care bed program includes 20 beds dedicated to individuals transitioning from hospital to the long-term care or back into the community.
AbleLiving Services is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to adults with disabilities living within their own home or one of our independent living facilities. Our clients direct and customize the services they receive and we support them to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life. We provide services across the Golden Horseshoe in the Mississauga, Burlington, Stoney Creek and Hamilton communities.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing non-medical personal support services, life-skills support, and light housekeeping duties to support individuals in the transition from hospital to the community. Such duties are carried out in accordance with Client Service plan, laws and regulations governing service provision
Requirements:
A High School Diploma and experience in the provision of personal support services to people with disabilities and/or seniors are requirements for this position.
Additional certification in personal support services, health care, and first aid or other related certifications is preferred.
Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs is essential.
Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required.
Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority.
Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively are also essential.
Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English are required.
Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively.
Must be available to work within a 24 hour, seven day/week work schedule.
Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners are essential.
Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team.
A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
