Salary: As per current Collective Agreement.
Duties: The direct monitoring and enforcing of operations on Unattended Carparks including:
As a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, issuing parking violation notices (PVNs) to and arranging for the towing of vehicles in violation of municipal by-laws
Completing accident and damage claim forms, as appropriate.
Intercepting and resolving customer complaints.
Informing the Manager on changes in local traffic and carpark usage patterns.
Reporting on the condition of and in consultation with his/her Manager /Supervisor arranging for repairs to facilities and equipment on a daily basis.
Checking the proper functioning of and making minor adjustments to ticket issuing devices, and putting tickets in ticket issuing devices, as required.
This position is in the scope of Payment Card Industry compliance (access to machine keys; involved in handling collected cards and performing device inspections).
Summary: Enforcement Officers spend the majority of their time on and travelling between Parking Authority facilities. They are expected to provide their own vehicle, safely negotiate downtown Toronto traffic and deal with the public in an efficient, courteous manner. A driver abstract (current) must be submitted.
A per kilometre travel allowance in accordance with the term of the Collective Agreement will be paid for the use of personal vehicle. Enforcement Officers must have and continue to be in possession of a valid G driver’s licence, with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a good driving record and be insurable at preferred rates. (Insurance policy must have Business Coverage and a minimum of $2,000,000.00 liability.)
Qualifications:
Must have good attendance record.
Demonstrate experience with the public in a position which requires excellence in customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution
Must be able to exercise sound judgement, possesses honesty, integrity, tact, diplomacy and customer service oriented
Flexible to work a variety of shifts including days, night, weekends and holidays
Officers are expected to preform their duties in all types of inclement weather
Strong situational assessment, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to apply these skills in difficult and challenging situations.
Knowledge of law enforcement, safety and security practices and techniques.
Must pass mandatory Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO) training/certification, and pass background investigation/checks, as required
Experience in customer resolution, general knowledge of By-Law Enforcement, will be considered an asset; as will a demonstrated skill in written, oral and electronic communications.

Conditions of Employment: Employees applying for this position will be assigned to perform other related duties as directed by the Manager, Enforcement Services, or their designee. Selected applicant will be required to work evenings, Sunday’s and/or Holidays or any shift, as required.
Selection: Suitability and selection will be determined in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
