The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking for a Civil / Municipal Engineer for our Transportation and Infrastructure group. This position is based in our Smithers office, reporting to the Branch Manager, Infrastructure. This position will be responsible to work on municipal projects with a focus on public and private clients involving water and wastewater systems, storm water management, municipal roads, and land development.

What you can expect to do here:
• Design and Engineering: Lead the preliminary and detailed design of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, subdivisions, water supply systems, sanitary sewers, and stormwater systems. This includes linear works, valve chambers, and pump stations.
• Construction Services: Provide comprehensive construction services, including site field reviews, reporting, and MMCD contract administration.
• Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and projects are delivered successfully.
• Proposal Development: Develop compelling proposals to secure new projects and expand our client base.
• Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as assigned to support the team and contribute to the success of our projects.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
• 3-5 years of experience in a consulting environment, particularly on municipal projects, is highly desirable. (candidates with greater relevant experience are welcome to apply)
• Demonstrated progressive experience in design, project management and construction
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or holding a P. Eng designation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Proven track record in project/task management, client communication, and proposal/report writing.
Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $61,600 - $84,700.
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
