The Proposal Writer is responsible for writing and maintaining proposal templates and ensuring they are kept up to date in the proposal software system. This role includes working with the Proposal Development Team, the Marketing Team, the National Accounts Team, as well as field/operational managers, and executives across various locations and departments. The Proposal Writer will work on a variety of bid responses and other projects, all with the objective of promoting the Company’s profile and winning new business and/or retaining existing opportunities. Job Duties: Working with the proposal development and marketing teams, curate a repository of reusable proposal content, templates, and best practices to streamline future efforts and enhance efficiency. Work closely with various teams, including sales, marketing, and subject matter experts, to gather necessary information and insights for proposals. Revise proposals based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards and client requirements, ensure information is kept up to date in the proposal repository. Provide administrative support to the Proposal Development Team including preparation of proposals when required, input and formatting of letters, reports, proposals, spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation including bonding and insurance documentation. Act as a back up to the proposal coordinators during times of increased proposal demand, during vacations or as necessary. Track progress of submitted proposals by following up with field/operations managers, updating the RFP status file as necessary. Deepen your understanding of GFL’s waste management services and strengths and how we support our customers. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Requirements: At least two (2) years of technical writing experience preferably in response to municipal RFPs, RFIs. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft narratives that captivate and persuade. Undergraduate degree or diploma in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field. Previous work in the Solid Waste Management of Recycling industry considered to be an asset. Strong understanding of public procurement processes. Exceptional writing and editing skills. High attention to detail. Strong project management skills, the ability to establish priorities, set and manage schedules, and coordinate multiple projects at one time. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Possess a valid Ontario Provincial Driver’s Licence – G Class. We thank you for your interest.
