Ashcor Technologies Ltd., a subsidiary of ATCO, is the largest independent marketer of fly ash in Western Canada. Ashcor is adding to its dynamic team as it expands its reclaimed ash management facility north of Halkirk, Alberta. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our facilities, and as such we are looking for a Loadout Operator to join us.
About the Role:
The Loadout Operator is responsible for day-shift loadout operations of the plant, including directing truck drivers through remote scaling, loading and ticketing operations.
What You Get to Do:
Electronically monitoring and running silo top loading of highway bulk carriers to within legal weight targets following established procedures
Provide clear and concise communication with transport drivers using appropriate radio protocol
Maintain accurate scale ticket data and ticketing information
Occasional data entry and reconciliations as required to maintain accurate record keeping
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the control room and resolve any issues efficiently
Comply with occupational safety and security laws and practices, and question unsafe or improper conditions and operating procedures
Actively participate and be engaged in health, safety, environmental and financial improvement programs
What You Bring:
Experience using Microsoft Suite
Able to commute in all season weather conditions
Flexibility in hours of work that maximizes necessary site support
Demonstrated safety mindset
Well-developed interpersonal skills, to help adapt to change, and develop creative and innovative ways to resolve issues
Strong communication skills, as well as a cooperative and positive attitude
Prior radio communications experience is an asset
Familiarity with loadout operations is an asset
Experience working in industrial facilities is an asset
Please note this role is an 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
