Our Bus Fleet Maintenance and Engineering office is seeking a Senior Vendor Operations Officer who is primarily responsible for vendor development and vendor performance (e.g. sets direction for communication amongst relevant parties. Identify and evaluate potential fleet vendors by developing and implementing vendor management strategies aligned with Bus Fleet Maintenance objectives.
What will I be doing?
Leads and directs vendor planning developments/ initiatives and management from inception through to completion (e.g. definition of scope of work, initiation, and briefing project sponsor and other delegates as required, gain technical approvals), engages with internal and external consultants/ subject matter experts.
Coordinates the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of large- and small-scale vendor programs
Ensures program risk management processes and tools are in place to ensure risk management is being conducted according BFM and Metrolinx risk management practices and policies.
Monitors and tracks program milestones and deliverables
Advises and collaborates with other business areas (e.g. Engineering, Materials, Quality Assurance, Commercial Management) to achieve vendor program success.
Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the compliance team and external vendors.
Establishes the frequency and content of program status reports, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas; prepares regular progress reports for projects and programs to Manager, Vendor Operations. Identifies areas for vendor improvement
Ensures projects are progressing by completing, assigning, and monitoring day-to-day tasks
Provides updates to Senior Leaders regarding vendor operation plans, delays, and deadlines/milestones in a timely manner and provides management with an overall view of the projected performance and provide status updates Ensures Smooth contract close out, ensuring opportunities are documented for future learnings.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in engineering, computer science, business administration or management, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
Demonstrated years of experience in vendor fleet management roles, leading complex programs and projects under pressure to meet critical schedules and budgetary commitments, preferably in transportation delivery and/or the public sector
Vendor operations management/ Contract Management, Project Management Professional (PMP) or another industry recognized project management certification is an asset. 310T Truck & Coach Technician certification is an asset.
