About the Role:
The BCCA accounting department is looking for part-time, short-term help while we
transition to a new AP automation system. We are looking for a detail-oriented and
proactive Bookkeeper’s Assistant to support our Bookkeeper and accounting team during
this busy period.
This position involves a mix of remote and in-office work, with the possibility of increased
hours depending on workload demands, and on mutual agreement. Additional tasks may
also be assigned by other departments, based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable transactions using our AP automation system.
Spot-check ledger postings to ensure data transmission was accurate.
Regular review of corporate Visa statements and investigating discrepancies.
Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents (digital and physical).
Assist in preparing audit support documentation.
Support month-end closing activities as needed.
Collaborate with the accounting team on ad hoc financial tasks and projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Basic bookkeeping or data processing experience (education or work-based).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience working in a finance or accounting department.
Understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
Comfort with cloud-based accounting platforms and digital workflows.
Familiarity with AP automation systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Duration:
3–4 months
Hours:
20 hours per week – Hybrid
Wage:
$24-$28 per hour plus 4% vacation paid out on each cheque.
Due to the short term nature of this position, benefits will not be provided.
