To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing As a National Asset Specialist, you will be an integral member of the National Asset Specialist team, working in an assigned territory to enhance and drive major sales and product support activities in alignment with national strategy. In this role, you will partner with local Asset Specialists to build sustained sales force capability and confidence, ultimately increasing overall product sales and leveraging client business. You will manage sales capability development activities across various groups within Retail Markets and multiple business areas, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and a national perspective in the support provided to the field. Regular contact with local Asset Specialists, Business Development Managers, Regional Directors, and the market leadership team—including VPs, AVPs, GMs, and CFP Regional Sales Managers—will be essential. Additionally, you will coordinate closely with other partners in your supported market and foster regular communication with National Sales colleagues to enhance collaboration and effectiveness. How You’ll Succeed Product Knowledge - Provide subject matter expertise and balanced support across key products, enhancing technical product knowledge within the sales force regarding product offers, policies, and sales processes. Leverage various delivery formats, such as advisor forums, district meetings, webinars, and conference calls, to build this knowledge effectively. Additionally, share product and sales expertise at forums, including sales presentations, promotional road shows, conferences, and investor seminars, engaging with external audiences. Create awareness of national and local marketing programs while leading the successful introduction of new product launches. Contribute to key initiatives as needed by aligning local market execution with national office direction. It will also be essential to develop and maintain current knowledge of products, processes, policies, and tools, including compliance and securities regulations, to deliver effective support across key product areas. Lastly, ensure that the appropriate support groups are engaged to assist with sales and servicing. Sales Support - Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to advisors as they assess and analyze client needs, determine product suitability, and engage in the selling of products. Support the use of tools, negotiation strategies, closing of sales, and cross-selling based on the unique needs of each client. Collaborate with market leaders, help build advisor capability by identifying gaps and offering solutions primarily through group coaching formats, such as advisor forums, district and cluster meetings, webinars, and conference calls. Additionally, enhance the abilities of market leaders in coaching skills, behaviors, productivity, and results through "coach the coach" activities, focusing on areas like interpersonal skills, sales proactivity, opportunity identification, time allocation, and process discipline. Also lead and drive the implementation of national sales management initiatives and best practices while championing a positive CIBC client experience and fostering deeper client loyalty. Sales Strategy Development - Proactively identify sales opportunities to enhance market penetration and drive the market sales force to initiate new sales leads and opportunities by improving capabilities and processes in this area. Collaborate with market leaders to support the development of business plans and assist in the execution and implementation of these strategies. Contribute to competitive market strategies by sharing valuable competitive intelligence and industry knowledge. Support market activities aimed at developing new external business sources, such as providing materials to advisors for client education seminars. Engagement - Support a focus on products by driving key activities and identifying areas of opportunity that align with national strategy, focus, and goals. Establish and execute pre-defined annual market-level plans, detailing specific activities and activity levels for every branch and advisor assigned to you. Collaborate with counterparts in the same market to manage activities, ensuring integration with the Retail Distribution calendar and sales planning processes. Take the lead in determining the timing, format, and frequency of activities in partnership with market leaders to maximize effectiveness. Who You Are You can demonstrate experience in wealth management and have expert knowledge of proprietary wealth management products as well as competitive offers. You will have extensive knowledge of Retail, Imperial Service, Small Business and Private Banking processes. You also have experience in an advisory sales role with demonstrated track record. Additional experience supervising sales people is an asset. You have superior sales coaching and consulting skills along with strong communication, excellent facilitation, superior relationship-building skills, exceptional client focus and presentation skills. You are a certified professional. Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC), PFP accreditation and Certified Financial Planning course (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is an asset.
