Qualifications: The candidate must possess the following knowledge and skills: - A degree in geomatics, civil engineering technology, professional training in surveying or equivalent from a recognized institution. - Experience in earthworks and dyke projects would be an asset. - An understanding of surveying principles, practices and procedures and the ability to accurately interpret, read and calculate construction drawings and apply them in the field. - Must be able to use surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS. - Knowledge of standard health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements and practices in the construction industry. - Must be able to work on a rotational basis on remote sites. Locations include Sudbury, ON and Thunder Bay, ON. Duties: Position may include, but is not limited to: - Use appropriate surveying equipment, software and systems to efficiently complete tasks. - Read and interpret construction drawings. - Perform accurate layout work. - Coordinate surveying activities with designated engineer to meet construction requirements. - Support and promote the company's quality assurance program. - Process field surveys. - Perform other duties as required.
