Facility Maintenance Team? This is your chance. The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a General Repair Technician!
OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the general maintenance and aesthetics of the Rogers Centre. This includes, but is not limited to, work such as basic plumbing, painting, interior finishes/fixtures (light bulbs, carpet tiles, ceiling tiles, mounting pictures and whiteboards) as well as work generated from preventative maintenance system, work order system, and unscheduled maintenance system (corrective maintenance).
Please note that this is a seasonal contract position and as such, applicants must be available to work all 2025 Toronto Blue Jays home games and Rogers Centre events. RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete general maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the Rogers Centre facility, serving the comfort and safety of guests
Execute timely response and action to service calls
Adhere to all facility environmental policies and programs
Acknowledge guests, staff and tenants with a smile, eye contact or friendly verbal greeting
Maintain strong, cooperative inter-department relationships
Maintain regular communication with management personnel and coworkers
Other general labour tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with basic repairs in plumbing and general maintenance tasks is an asset
Experience in construction industry is an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Working knowledge of employee responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS
Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed
Customer Service skills and professional attitude a necessity
Ability to safely lift 23 kg/50 lbs.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime as required, and available for call-outs for emergency repairs
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Experience with patching and painting is an asset
