About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, Warehouse, the Supervisor, Warehouse is on the warehouse ?oor to lead their team and ensure the products are properly received, stored, and shipped. The supervisor works as a coach and mentor to their team. To succeed in this position, the supervisor must be capable of planning the workload, motivating their team, and o?ering great customer service.
Responsibilities
Supervise a team of unionized warehouse employees, while respecting budgetary constraints
Maintain a safe work environment to enforce health and safety policies and regulations in the workplace
Coach, lead and mentor all warehouse employees
Oversee the storage of, and the shipping and receiving of goods
Work with the supervisory and management team to develop a work environment that promotes good working relationships and ongoing communication with unionized employees
Develop and apply control methods to maintain a high level of labor e?ciency
Take part in any other related projects or tasks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is an asset. Experience and/or education in a related field preferred.
1-3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized storage or distribution environment.
Be a leader, a good communicator as needed.
Possess excellent organization and time-management skills.
Ability to make sound recommendations based on systematic evaluations.
Ability to cultivate, manage and foster a diverse team of employees.
Familiar with Office and SAP computer tools.
Experience with ELS (Engineered Labor standards).
