Facility Manager
This role will ensure the safe, functional, and efficient operation of the Matheson site. This individual will have responsibility for regular maintenance and upkeep of the site, while addressing employee concerns and needs. This role will also be held accountable for managing the site budget, contractors and all third-party contracts including, the Cafeteria, Office Services and the lease for the building. Although this role is primarily dedicated to the Matheson Site in Mississauga Head Office, the incumbent will provide guidance/support/backup where needed to other Bayer Sites in Canada.
This is permanent position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.
What you will do:
Manage day to day operations of the Matheson Site while providing employees with effective and safe working environments
Provides guidance/support to the other Bayer Sites if needed
Schedules and coordinate service and maintenance of building systems (lighting, curtains, sound control etc..) as needed
Leads the daily operations of the Matheson Site (Pharma, Consumer Health, EF & Bayer Inc HQ)
Implement supplier contracts to deliver requirements needed and manage supplier performance through effective KPIs
Ensures site compliance with all Health, Safety, & Environmental regulations
Manage administrative activities such as budget, PO creation, invoice approvals, capital expenditures
Partner with site leadership to effectively drive changing needs and improvements
Work in conjunction with landlord (Morgaurd) building maintenance staff with regards to heating, ventilation and cooling systems when needed
Maintain a working relationship with the building landlord (Morgaurd). Deal with issues that may come up during the day-to-day operation of Bayer floors and spaces.
Manage site contracts such as cafeteria, mailroom and cleaning staff and associated 3rd party employees
Ensure Bayer related systems such as CLMS (contract administration) and Baysites (Site administration) are up to date with the latest site records
Manage the lease and relationship with the landlord
Leads local projects for the building/site
Manage and track seating and storage spaces
Proactively and continuously look for efficiency opportunities (eg. Consolidation of suppliers)
Interface with Bayer internal supporting functional areas (ie. IT, HSE, Security etc..)
Actively participate as a member of the Health and Safety committee
Lead local emergency response management program
Who you are:
Minimum of 5 years of facilities management experience; or equivalent
People management experience particularly 3rd party staff
Contract/Vendor Management experience
Conflict resolution, Strong Communication and Financial Acumen
Strong Organizational skills and Detailed oriented
Experience using Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, and more)
Strong Project Management skills
Able to deal with ambiguity and prioritize tasks
Problem solver who is solution focused with an action-oriented approach
Self-Starter and Self-motivated
