GFL Environmental is looking for a Residential Swing Driver to join our team in Grande Prairie! As a Residential Swing driver, you will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. An ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor and is physically capable of completing job duties in a positive, team oriented and supportive environment. Load solid waste, yard waste, and/or recyclables into the waste collection vehicle. Compact trash efficiently using prescribed techniques. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and complete required documentation. Communicate vehicle mechanical issues promptly to supervisors and mechanics. Maintain route quality standards and follow safety regulations. Identify and tag prohibited waste items, removing them from waste carts. Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable. Adhere to all federal, state/provincial, local, and company safety rules. Requirements: Class 3 Driver's License required. Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate. Ability to meet safety criteria for sensitive functions according to company standards. Demonstrated ability to safely drive a truck and operate equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance for safe operation. Proficient in maneuvering trucks in tight spaces using mirrors. Ability to recognize and handle unacceptable waste materials. Effective communication with internal and external customers. Reading, writing, and comprehension of associated documents and maps. Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
