To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing Reporting to the Director, Business Effectiveness, the Consultant, Business Effectiveness will be responsible for driving and supporting strategies and continuous improvement and initiatives, designed to increase transaction monitoring effectiveness and streamline transaction monitoring implementation, tuning and advanced analytics processes. The Consultant will work closely with the Risk Management Analytics team, FIU team, and the broader AML team, to identify coverage, optimization and advanced analytics opportunities. The Consultant will work closely with various EAML teams and technology partners within CIBC to identify process gaps, understand root causes to issues, make recommendations to senior management to improve processes as required, and oversee initiatives through to resolution and benefits realization. With knowledge on data analytics and trend identification, the incumbent will identify AML/ATF risk exposures and develop and implement transaction monitoring risk mitigation initiatives across EAML. The Consultant will also support strategic transformation, remediation and optimization initiatives, with a focus on the transaction monitoring scale and advance program to support the next phase of investment in the EAML business architecture. As part of the transaction monitoring scale and advance program, the Consultant will support the development, testing and implementation of a robust Transaction Monitoring platform to enhance reporting and advanced analytics capabilities, as well as the PRM migration to mitigate hardware failure and optimization of rules. How you'll succeed Be an architect of the EAML Program - Support the design and implementation of processes in order to achieve effectiveness improvement to support the Enterprise AML mandate, through transformation and remediation projects. Be an agent of change - You will be responsible for presenting recommendations to management on process improvements to support effectiveness and efficiency within the FIU including rules development and tuning opportunities to minimize false positives. You will execute continuous improvement activities for the FIU, identifying, analyzing and tracking process and control gaps and inefficiencies impacting investigative activities. Influence peers and senior management - Work with various support teams to ensure effective and timely implementation of continuous improvement initiatives including management of necessary change requests as appropriate. You will also represent the FIU in cross-functional projects, providing operational guidance and support in key transformational initiatives. Support our leaders - Coordinate and provide assistance to the EAML Governance, Solutions Delivery and the FIU and Risk Analytics subject matter experts on initiatives as required. Who you are You have knowledge of AML regulations, practices and economic sanctions or similar knowledge and/or experience in Fraud, Strategy or related regulatory compliance. You have understanding of various lines of businesses, products, services, delivery channels and new technologies to understand and identify respective risks. You have the ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications for technology to implement. You have a degree/diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance, Law, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent years of experience; Lean Six Sigma and ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) accreditations are nice to have. You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. It's an asset if you have technical proficiency with SQL, Python, VBA, or other data tools to perform data analysis. You communicate effectively. You can articulate recommendation and build clear and concise presentations to help management make strategic and operational decisions. You are a problem solver.
