The Senior Commodity Sales Manager, Recycling will provide strategic direction and ensure sales and movement of all internal recovered commodities from our recovery facilities. In addition, this job also entails the procurement of recovered fiber and non-fiber commodities from the Municipal and Commercial Recycling Sectors in Eastern Canada. Job Duties Assist with the development of sales strategies for Blue Box commodities. Cover Sales Manager’s responsibilities during vacations or time away. Identify new business opportunities and develop new end-markets. Forecast sales with Sales Commodity Managers (MOR). Assist with managing material inventories. Support supply agreement negotiations. Assist with material sales for business units (BUs) outside of Ontario across Canada. Communicate with end-markets regarding quality rejections or downgrades. Maintain client relations with key decision-makers for end-markets. Facilitate communications and procedures between Sales and Operations. Manage commodity sales and reporting for Circular Materials (CM) contract. Compile and analyze sales data against CM contract. Secure CM Attestations from end-markets. Educate and assist end-markets with RPRA Registration. Communicate with the CSR Team as needed. Provide monthly recaps of market conditions to CM. Participate in monthly Operations/Audit meetings to review outbound quality against CM. Participate in weekly Sales, Operations, and Logistics meetings. Submit bi-weekly activity and market reports. Provide monthly price sheets for customers. Attend trade shows and association meetings as required. Requirements Minimum 3 years of sales experience. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook. Self-motivated and results-driven. Highly flexible with strong interpersonal communication skills. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of implementing solutions to customer concerns. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines under pressure. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to develop strategic relationships. Skilled at multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks. Employee Relations Provide support to the department as needed for absenteeism and vacation coverage. Report absenteeism to your manager via telephone, text, or email. Communicate with administrative, plant, and supervisory staff as required. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Participate in or provide training as required. Comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures. Health & Safety When touring operational facilities, the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn: CSA-approved safety shoes Hearing protection High-visibility clothing Gloves Safety glasses CSA-approved hard hats You must abide by all GFL Environmental rules and regulations, including Health and Safety standards as set out by the City of Toronto and GFL Environmental Ltd.
