Unposting Date: 2025-05-18 11:59 PM Your role Reporting to the Manager of News & Current Affairs for Radio-Canada Bas-Saint-Laurent, you’ll work primarily as a Reporter/Researcher for the morning and drive-home radio shows produced out of Rimouski. You’ll be expected to pitch relevant story and content ideas, develop original interview angles and identify compelling guests who will engage our listeners and help us stand out in the Bas-Saint-Laurent market. A strong ability to adapt, handle pressure and maintain a broad network of contacts is essential. You’ll also need a solid understanding of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and its key players, along with a demonstrated capacity for imagination, initiative and thoroughness. As a Reporter/Researcher, you must be able to work on multiple stories simultaneously and possess strong organizational skills. You have on-air radio experience, knowing how to take stories and make them engaging for audiences. You bring a keen understanding of digital media to support the reach of Radio-Canada’s radio content across its web platforms. Your work must also adhere to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. Your profile: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or other relevant field Three (3) years’ journalism experience Skills: Excellent knowledge of current events in the Lower St. Lawrence region Broad general knowledge Very good knowledge of research tools and techniques A wide-ranging, up-to-date contact network Comfortable on-air presence, particularly on radio Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a resourceful self-starter Strong digital acumen Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices Excellent command of spoken and written French Intermediate oral and reading proficiency, and beginner writing proficiency in English is an asset Availability to work irregular hours Shortlisted candidates will be tested as follows: Interview Journalistic tests Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
