About the Role
The Instructional Designer for the Training Team will drive the content development process for AI literacy programming for Canadian energy workers to succeed in the low-carbon economy. This position is a full-time, one-year contract position that leverages pedagogical expertise to guide the team of educators in developing high-quality AI and ML content, ensuring it is tailored to the right audiences at the most impactful times.
Reporting to the Product Owner, Training, the Instructional Designer serves as a key member of the Training team and is an active participant in executing Amii’s business functions.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensures the development and maintenance of an optimal learning environment for our clients
Supports the development of curriculum that is engaging and centered around the learner's needs, tailored for multiple delivery formats including blended learning, HyFlex, and micro credential programs
Applies universal design principles throughout the curriculum development process to create accessible and inclusive learning experiences for all learners
Utilizes rapid authoring tools to create high-quality e-learning content that complements and enhances instructor-led courses and programs
Identifies problem-solving approaches in collaboration with team members, contributing to a culture of creative solutions
Identifies and implements opportunities to improve efficiency within the Training team, streamlining processes for better performance
Contributes to the effective coordination and management of internal tools and resources, ensuring they support both learner success and overall team effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
Post Secondary Degree in Education, Machine Learning, or related field
3+ years instructional design experience
Experience developing and delivering curriculum; designing effective learning exercises, illustrations of technical concepts, training and evaluation tools (nice to have)
Proficient in eLearning systems (nice to have)
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet project deadlines (nice to have)
Inquisitive, with an interest in and ability to test new educational tools and technologies (nice to have)
