We are actively seeking a full-time Field Production Engineer/Technologist to join our Cold Lake Thermal Production team. This is a field-based role located in the Cold Lake, Bonnyville, or Lloydminster region. Reporting to the Production Engineering Team Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for field production engineering activity at Strathcona’s Lindbergh SAGD asset. The candidate will work closely with field operations and maintenance staff, as well as the Calgary production team. Essential Functions: Optimize SAGD production through performance monitoring and target setting Work closely with field operations staff to troubleshoot well performance issues Commitment to corporate safety goals and participation with field staff Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to make effective production optimization decisions Manage and effectively integrate priorities between Calgary and operations teams Optimize the performance of ESP and rod pump artificial lift systems Monitor well pair data quality to ensure that accurate instrumentation and testing data is collected Monitor and optimize water disposal well injectivity Qualifications Include: An Engineering degree/diploma and at least 3 years of experience in Production Engineering Field experience in SAGD or other thermal oil recovery would be preferred Strong work ethic, self-motivated, problem-solving and excellent communication skills A proven ability to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal and team skills and thrive in a collaborative environment Strong analytical skills. Knowledge of advanced analytical tools such as PI systems, Tableau, etc. would be highly valued Experience with the design, completion and operation of SAGD wells, artificial lift systems and related pad surface facilities Working knowledge of heavy oil treating, steam generation and water treatment process and equipment Familiarity with MOC process, P&IDs and other process related documentation Registered professional member of APEGA Work Environment: This position is based in the Cold Lake/Bonnyville/Lloydminster region at the Lindbergh facility Great things aren’t done by one person, they’re done by a team.
