As a member of the Global Retirement Finance - Pricing team supporting the US and Canada Retirement businesses, the Actuarial Manager will support model management and financial analysis of Guaranteed Products within Global Retirement. These products include a large and growing product in the US; Stable Value Fund and Guaranteed Interest Account in Canada. The Actuarial Manager would be mandated with producing key analysis to support various stakeholders, including Senior Management, Pricing, Product Risk Management, Capital Management, Asset-Liability Management, Audit and Model Risk Management. The role requires good understanding of guaranteed products and the approaches used in valuing and pricing these products within the Retirement space. Further the Actuarial Manager will support other initiatives within the Global Retirement Finance including quarterly New Business Value reporting and pricing models’ management activities. The Actuarial Manager will facilitate and participate in communication of key actuarial analysis to key stakeholders, engage in monitoring of key performance metrics for guaranteed products, and contribute to product governance activities. This is a role that comes with close interaction with multiple teams and stakeholders, exposure to various leaders, and opportunities to expand your network within GWAM and broader MFC. Position Responsibilities: Model Expert with ownership of guaranteed products modelling and associated model management activities. Be a steward of pricing assumptions for guaranteed products, including ongoing monitoring of key experience related assumptions in the pricing of guaranteed products. Strong understanding of capital requirements under both US and Canada regulatory frameworks. Facilitate collaboration between Global Retirement Finance team and Retirement Pricing teams in the pricing, price discounts strategy, and risk monitoring of Guaranteed Products. Lead Plan Level (or deal level) financial analysis of guaranteed products’ overall pricing, pricing credits and monitoring of sales incentive programs’ performance. Support financial analysis and reporting to senior management. Support pricing initiatives through assessing impact to profitability and other key pricing metrics. The pricing initiatives are typically triggered by strategic business considerations and activities. Partner with Product, Pricing, Actuarial, Risk, Capital Management, ALM and other stakeholders to deliver on business and corporate goals. Develop models as required, to support Plan Level (or deal level) analysis, production of financial reports, and providing insights from the analysis on key performance indicators, including providing recommendations for the business. Support ongoing optimization of business and modelling processes, including automation of manual processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Actuarial Studies, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields with substantial experience in progressive finance roles. Professional designation preferred (FSA, FCIA, ASA, ACIA etc.) Proven work experience in financial, pricing or actuarial analysis, modeling and reporting. Advanced or expert level knowledge of Moody’s AXIS, Integrated Asst-Liability modelling, Excel, Financial Modeling, Reporting programs, VBA coding, PowerPoint. Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding deadline driven environment. Challenge existing processes and proactively develop more efficient processes. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, eager to learn and take on new responsibilities. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments within the organization. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; innovative and strategic thinker and able to think “outside the box” Able to communicate effectively with diverse groups, i.e. strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and within a team to support broader Global Retirement initiatives Capable of making recommendations based on sound judgement driven from financial, pricing, actuarial data and analytics. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and creative strategies to drive business change and results. Preferred working knowledge of United States retirement products, investments as well as Guaranteed Income Products.
