Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Governance Reporting team is looking for a Senior Advisor to lead the development of governance and performance documentation, policies, processes, and tools to support the implementation of Metrolinx’s Capital Program.
What will I be doing?
Implement and identify opportunities to improve processes, activities and outcomes that ensure high quality customer service to internal and external partners and stakeholders in the timely and accurate provision of management reports, analysis, and submissions.
Participate in and/or lead internal project meetings, workshops, and committees to represent, enforce and educate on Reporting processes, procedures and best practices.
Review and develop terms of reference and supporting documents for governance processes as required to ensure appropriate due diligence and provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders on all governance-related matters
Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure timely, high-quality, standardized, and consistent documentation is developed and provided to executives and the Board of Directors.
Develop, review, monitor, and provide a high level of scrutiny to maximize the quality and accuracy of quarterly reports, and other Board reports prepared for internal and external distribution.
Manage the development and reporting of project trending reports and status updates.
Lead the identification, development, implementation, visual demonstration and reporting of various packages of Key Performance Indicators that will motivate positive change across the Capital Projects Group.
Work closely and collaboratively with project teams, Procurement, Legal and other Metrolinx groups in the preparation of capital approval documentation.
Provide analytical, editorial, research-based, and policy-informed advice to support all areas of the Capital Projects Group with contract-related approvals processes and documents.
Support the procurement approval process (e.g. coordinate internal documentation to support the release and award of RFQs, RFPs, issuance of purchase orders, etc.).
Coordinate with Investment Panel Office to monitor upcoming and current issues to ensure appropriate support and focus from required internal stakeholders is achieved.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Engineering, Public Administration, Urban Planning or related field or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent; A graduate degree would be an asset.
Demonstrated relevant experience, preferably in capital procurement / improvement projects in a public sector/transportation, or private engineering environment.
Experience developing and presenting reports.
Ability to negotiate, consult with, facilitate, and manage partnerships.
Strong relationship management skills.
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving skills to navigate a dynamic work environment independently
Strong leadership skills to lead process improvement projects start to finish, from scoping to analysis, planning, and implementation.
Planning, research, analysis, problem solving, political acuity and diplomacy to advise senior officials on politically sensitive or contentious issues.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Power BI would be an asset.
Knowledge of Treasury Board, Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and Infrastructure Ontario policies and procedures would be an asset.
