We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Performance Materials team in Blackie, Alberta.

The Performance Materials division is at the forefront of the much-needed sustainability transformation in plastics. In this role, you will administer key elements of the site Quality Assurance Program, coordinate equipment calibration and maintenance, assist in training and documentation, participate in process optimization projects, maintain quality control data, and ensure accurate testing of completed batches.
This position will administratively report to the Blackie Site Manager, but operationally to the Quality Assurance Tech will report to the PMU Quality Manager North America.

Supporting EHS activities and promoting safety processes within the facility.
Analyzing root causes of EHS and quality incidents to drive corrective actions.
Assisting operations with polyurethane production and providing troubleshooting support.
Monitoring plant goals and operational budgets to ensure efficient production.
Collaborating with maintenance teams to prioritize equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and participating in process optimization projects.
Ensuring compliance with quality standards and maintaining the Quality Manual and related procedures.
Performing audits and managing documentation for testing and equipment calibration
Participating as a backup in the production department during staff absences, ensuring continuity in operations. Also, supporting the team in maintaining production efficiency.
Engaging in cross-training opportunities within operations, supply chain, and other plant functions; also, collaborating with various departments to enhance knowledge and skills across different operational areas.
If you have...
Possess a Bachelor's degree in a science related field (preferred).
Hold a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Control/ Quality Assurance and/or Polyurethane Systems.
Have a strong background in manufacturing or related activities.
Possess proven organizational and communication skills.
Have strong computer skills and a solid understanding of systems.
