Network Security Analyst
Support cybersecurity operations in a dynamic insurance industry environment as a junior-level Network Security Analyst. Engage with firewall management, NGIPS, and threat detection tools while gaining hands-on experience in network traffic analysis and incident response. Hybrid work model with 3 days onsite in Markham.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in defining policies for network tools and technologies to protect infrastructure.
• Review firewall rules to minimize malicious inbound threats.
• Analyze network traffic logs as part of security investigations.
• Monitor and document security issues and incidents.
• Conduct regular health checks and testing of network infrastructure.
• Track emerging threats and contribute to NGIPS policy recommendations.
• Present findings and reports to management teams.
• Support ad-hoc projects and documentation efforts.
• Foster internal and external working relationships to enhance collaboration.
• Coordinate and resolve incidents from detection to resolution.
• Summarize and escalate potential breaches to leadership.
• Aid in developing security awareness through research on evolving threat landscapes.
• Support risk management and other related teams when needed.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Holds an active cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, OSCP).
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity within an enterprise IT environment.
• Background in the insurance industry is considered an asset.
• Hands-on experience with Proxy, Firewalls, Wireshark, CDN technology, SIEM, and NGIPS.
• Practical experience in web proxy policy administration and design (WSS or ProxySG preferred).
• Strong understanding of gateway security threats and preventative technologies.
• Proficiency in detecting and responding to DDoS attacks.
• Solid knowledge of IP addressing, OSI layers, routers, switches, and network protocols.
• Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and general IT systems.
• Understanding of industry and international security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing incident response plans and security playbooks.
• Ability to work on multiple projects with effective time management.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
