The individual should have experience and capabilities to effectively work in Infrastructure and should also be willing and expect to work on private markets deals globally. In this role, the incumbent will work on initiatives with teams across the Investment Management (IM) division as well as with partners across the organization including Legal, Sustainable Investing and Investment Finance professionals. In additional to internal partners, they will have partnerships with external parties including key fund partners, intermediaries, consultants, company Boards and management. They will a strong foundation of private markets experience and a passion to contribute to the continued advancement of Infrastructure at HOOPP. What you will do: Investment Assess opportunities in the pipeline (i.e., pass or proceed). Engage in outbound origination of opportunities, focused on well-researched target assets and companies. Develop work plans and manage the key elements of the investment process. Also involves individually executing key work streams. Manage various third parties including consultants, lawyers, accountants, and co-investors. Provide support to partners in structuring and negotiating investments. Play a major role in negotiating legal documentation for investments. Lead the preparation of investment committee materials. Enhance the learning and development of Analysts, Associates and Senior Associates. Portfolio Management Investigate areas of value add for portfolio companies. Work with management teams to solve problems and find opportunities. Stay connected with fund partners that are relevant to sector coverage. Evaluate sell/hold decisions. Internal Initiatives Contribute to improving our investment strategy and to innovate as the asset class changes. Research and evaluate various industry sectors. Create and investigate new investment structures. Contribute to a culture of collaboration and high engagement. What you will need: 7+ years of experience in private investing (or similar field) with significant responsibility for managing deal processes. University undergraduate degree. Professional financial or other post-graduate designations(s) (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA) is an asset. Leadership qualities and proven ability to manage a junior team of investment professionals. Proven ability to lead and conduct detailed financial and operating analysis. Strong financial modelling skills, enabling critical review of the work of more junior team members, as well as being a source of learning. High integrity and professionalism. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and oral communication skills.
