Mechanical Estimating and Purchasing Coordinator

Purpose of Position:
The Mechanical Estimating and Purchasing Coordinator will assist with all aspects of bidding, pricing, budgeting, and acquiring of fixtures and equipment for projects. They will form and maintain excellent working relationships with general contractors, sales representatives, and suppliers to coordinate the highest quality and most cost-effective fixtures, and equipment for jobsites. The Mechanical Estimating and Purchasing Coordinator will also assist in coordinating deliveries and in providing troubleshooting support for any issues that may arise in the process.
Reporting Structure
The Mechanical Estimating and Purchasing Coordinator reports directly to the Lead Fixtures Purchaser/Estimator and the Lead Equipment Purchaser/Estimator.
What We Offer
Competitive base salary of $65,000 to $85,000 CND per year D.O.E

Primary Responsibilities
Work with suppliers to develop an all-inclusive budget, to maximize profits, and assemble finalized pricing
Assist with estimating all fixtures and equipment/HVAC for OPM projects
Review drawings and schedules regarding fixtures and equipment for the projects
Work with our clients to provide options and pricing between the initial bid phase to the procurement phase
Putting together spreadsheets with all equipment pricing from wholesalers
Assist with the review of shop drawing packages for the equipment
Create a procurement spreadsheet to track the submittal process and delivery dates
Assist with coordinating budgets and equipment selection with Project Managers/Controls engineer
Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales representatives and suppliers to maintain our best cost and negate pricing fluctuation
Adapting to accommodate design changes and clients’ selections
Assist with purchasing equipment and coordinating deliveries
Work with Site Team/PM’s to ensure product scheduling works
Determine best possible pricing and vendors/suppliers and award final purchase orders to successful vendors/suppliers
Provide operation and maintenance documentation on the finalized products provided
Experience, Education, & Qualifications
1 - 2 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Estimating
Experience with fixtures and equipment is an asset
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.
Experience working at a Design-Build Mechanical company considered an asset
Knowledge of Trimble AutoBid and Bluebeam considered an asset
Knowledge of ViewPoint Spectrum ERP considered an asset
