Additionally, it is expected that the incumbent will maintain an organized warehouse, load picked orders and supply accurate documentation of material received and shipped. There is frequent direct interaction with customers requiring delivery of excellent customer service. CONTRACT ROLE FOR FOUR MONTHS (May to August) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: • Pick customer orders in a timely, accurate manner • Provide excellent customer service • Verify supplier-packing slips by physically checking deliveries • Advise Supervisor of shipment discrepancies immediately • Advise Supervisor when stock levels are low or back ordered • Advise Supervisor or Branch Manager of unsafe conditions • Stock shelves and arrange in a safe and organized fashion • Unload and load shipments manually and/or with the use of lift truck • Comply with load weight and secure load restrictions • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse • Complete safety training as well as follow policies and procedures at all times • Responsible for verification of material shipped from warehouse • Prepare paperwork neatly and accurately • Assist with cycle and year-end inventory counts for the branch EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • Ability to work independently • Must be punctual and reliable • Ability to follow instructions • Be willing and able to successfully complete training deemed appropriate for the position • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) • Good knowledge of all Health and Safety policies and procedure and understanding of safe work practices • Strong communication and organizational skills • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work well with others • Ability to lift 20lbs and up • Lift Truck experience • WHMIS training • Intermediate computer skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Most of the work takes place in the warehouse and requires frequent usage of required PPE including safety boots, gloves, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
