Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain mechanical designs for automated welding systems
Create 3D models, detailed designs and modification of mechanical components and assemblies in Solidworks and/or other similar 3D modeling Software’s;
Generate layout, drafts and fabrication drawings as per industry standards and ability to detail using GD&T practices;
Collaborate with the application and quotation teams to develop new products based on concept designs;
Analyze existing products for designs improvements to enhance reliability, reduce cost, maintenance, and repair time;
Choose appropriate materials and apply design for manufacturing principles equipment design
Work with suppliers to specify the sizing of the components and help project management with technical details associated with structuring specified parts.
Job Requirements
Diploma or BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of college certificate and work experience.
Min 5 years proven mechanical design experience on projects involving machinery
Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD software is essential
Familiar with machining practices and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Knowledge and experience in engineering calculations, selection and sizing of material and components
Familiar with manufacturing processes (welding, cutting, machining, etc)
FEA experience and P.Eng license is an asset.
Proven ability to deliver assignments as required under tight timelines and with minimal supervision
Detail oriented self-starter and team-player with excellent oral and written communications, and multi-tasking skills.
