Pay Range Commensurate with Experience The Project Manager, Strategy will lead project team(s) in both the execution and adoption of high-impact projects and initiatives aligned with VHA’s strategic priorities for 2025-2030. With a relentless focus on delivering measurable outcomes and ensuring adoption, this role will drive initiatives that create meaningful and lasting benefits across the organization. Championing a co-design approach, the role ensures the voices of clients, families, frontline staff, and partners drive projects from conception to completion. As a key member of the Office of Strategy Management (OSM), the Project Manager will work with cross-functional teams across VHA (including frontline staff) to drive engagement and ensure successful strategy implementation, focusing on the adoption of standardized tools and processes. This role will support the development and maintain sustainable processes to keep stakeholders informed of projects’ status, risks, execute mitigation strategies with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to VHA. This role will enhance the reputation of its department and organization, consistent with VHA’s vision, mission and core beliefs of services as well as building and supporting sustainable and productive public relations with clients and VHA staff and partners. Key Areas of Accountability: 3-5 years of experience leading and supporting the execution of large-scale strategic projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders. Experience should include driving organization-wide changes to support the successful execution of strategic initiatives. Proven expertise in project management principles and methodologies and experience developing and managing cross-functional teams on large-budget, cross-disciplinary and complex project portfolio by setting priorities, project and individual workplans, communicating values, strategies, expectations, and promoting an engaged and inclusive environment. Flexible, nimble and adaptable to new and unexpected situations that may arise from projects/initiatives while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment Excellent project management skills, utilizing project planning techniques and project planning tools and templates, e.g. use adaptive approach, scope statements, project charters, team agreements, requirement analysis, lessons-learned, Gantt charts, critical path analysis, etc. Experience leading and supporting annual planning across departments to develop annual plans in alignment with strategic priorities. Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity. Excellent BI data analysis skills to provide strategic, evidence-based advice/recommendations to teams and leaders as appropriate and identify errors in reports for large sets of data for a large organization. Well-developed knowledge of engaging with and supporting leaders within a health care setting to apply change and design approaches in supporting project execution and adoption of new strategic initiatives Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity. Highly organized with the ability to apply structure to manage and track multiple projects / programs of work Experience in applying quality improvement methodologies to achieve outcomes is valuable (e.g. process mapping, value stream analysis, kaizen events etc.) Provide project leadership to facilitate the achievement of the OSM objectives. Key skills, experience and behaviors required for this position: Bachelor’s degree in a related health care discipline from a recognized university preferred Advanced degree, e.g. Masters Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration or equivalent ideal Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred or extensive project leadership experience required PROSCI Change Management Practitioner, Certified preferred A minimum of three to five years progressive leadership responsibility and project management, preferably in health-related sector preferred Demonstrated experience establishing and delivering complex projects within a large system and / or organization Experience leading and supporting project teams What makes VHA’s compensation unique?
