As an Early Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch items, ensuring high-quality meals are served to our customers during the morning hours.Arrive early to set up the kitchen and prepare ingredients for the day's menuCook and present breakfast and lunch items according to established recipes and standardsAssist with breakfast service as neededMaintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation practicesCollaborate with team members to ensure efficient food preparation and serviceMonitor and maintain appropriate food inventory levelsAssist in menu planning and development of new breakfast itemsAdapt cooking techniques to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergensOperate and maintain kitchen equipment properlyEnsure all food items are prepared and plated in a timely mannerCommunicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth serviceQualificationsProven experience as a cook, preferably with early morning shift experienceStrong culinary skills and knowledge of various food preparation techniquesProficiency in operating kitchen equipment and toolsExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentTeam player with strong communication skillsKnowledge of food safety and sanitation practicesExperience in high-volume food preparationCulinary diploma or equivalent (preferred)Valid Food Handler's Certificate (required)Familiarity with breakfast and lunch cuisineUnderstanding of dietary restrictions and allergensFlexibility to work early morning hours and weekends as neededPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 poundsAdditional InformationSodexo is committed to Employment Equity and Diversity.
